The Full 2026 Amazon Sale Schedule -- Month by Month

Amazon runs more sales events now than they did five years ago. Knowing when they happen and what categories peak during each one is how you stop impulse buying and start actually timing your purchases. Here's how the year breaks down.

January -- Post-Holiday Clearance

January is underrated. Amazon pushes clearance hard in early January as they move overstock from the holiday season. TVs, smart home devices, toys, and clothing see real markdowns -- not the fake "sale" kind, but actual inventory liquidation. The window is usually the first two weeks. After that, prices normalize.

January is also when Amazon tends to run their "New Year, New You" health and fitness sales. Exercise equipment, supplements, blenders, and meal prep tools all see 20-40% off in the first couple weeks.

February -- Super Bowl TV Deals

February is quiet overall. Valentine's Day drives some deals on jewelry, flowers, and gifts, but nothing major. The exception: Super Bowl timing. Amazon (and every retailer) pushes TV deals in the weeks before the Super Bowl. If you need a TV and missed the post-holiday window, this is your second chance. 65-inch and larger TVs tend to see their best non-Prime Day prices here.

March -- Spring Sale

Amazon started running an official Spring Sale in recent years, usually mid-to-late March. Expect 20-40% off across categories including home goods, kitchen appliances, outdoor gear, and some electronics. Spring cleaning products, storage solutions, and garden supplies are the headline categories.

April and May -- Sporadic Deals

No major events. Amazon runs smaller category-specific sales (Mother's Day, Earth Day, graduation gifts). Good for specific searches but not worth rearranging your budget around. Keep price alerts running and you'll catch one-off drops.

Prime Day -- July (Usually Second Week)

Prime Day is Amazon's biggest sale event of the year. Expect 2026's Prime Day in the second week of July, 48 hours.

The best Prime Day categories historically: Echo and Fire devices (Amazon discounts their own hardware aggressively), laptops and tablets, headphones, robot vacuums, and smart home gear. Clothing and groceries see deals too but nothing spectacular.

You need a Prime membership to access Prime Day deals. Free trials count. Set up wishlists ahead of time; prices change fast and deals sell out. Load your cart the night before and check first thing in the morning on Day 1.

October -- Prime Big Deal Days

Amazon added a second major sale in October -- Prime Big Deal Days -- in 2022 and has run it every year since. It's essentially a fall Prime Day, usually 48 hours in mid-October.

This is the best pre-holiday electronics window. People who know about it use it to buy Christmas gifts six weeks early at Prime Day prices instead of inflated holiday prices. TVs, gaming consoles, laptops, and AirPods-type items all see solid discounts. October Big Deal Days is legitimately underutilized.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday -- Late November

Amazon starts Black Friday deals in early November now, not the actual Friday. By the time actual Black Friday arrives, the best deals on popular items are already gone. Check daily starting November 1.

Black Friday is best for: TVs, appliances, clothing, and toys. Cyber Monday shifts toward tech accessories, software, and smaller electronics. The week between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is also productive -- Amazon runs "Cyber Week" deals continuously.

One real talk note: most Black Friday "deals" on Amazon are items that were priced higher in October just to show a bigger discount in November. Price trackers like Keepa will expose this immediately.

December -- Last-Minute and Post-Holiday

Early December has some residual Cyber Monday deals. Mid-December is mostly full price with a few flash sales. After Christmas (December 26 onward), clearance season begins again and connects back to the January post-holiday window.
